On her 1st death anniversary
in December 1996 the Shilpa Special School was born and Shilpa
Society registered under Travacore Cochin Literary Scientific
& Charitable Society Registration Act XII of 1955 ( ER
97/97). At present more than 140 students attend its special
school. which is a three storied disabled friendly building
owned by the society .
The 2 school vans provide transportation for the children
More than 25 committed and specially trained staff including
principal, social worker ,special teachers , therapists vocational
rehabilitation trainers offer their skilled services . |
The society which incurs an approximate cost of
Rs 80000 per month runs with help of government Grant and donors
contribution.
Beginning as a small unit it has now consolidated itself by
its dedicated work . |

Instead of resting on its laurels it is now confidently
entering its new phase to achieve its dreams of starting parent
training programmes , respite care , residential centre etc
.
For this purpose it has now bought 60 cents of land in a prime
area of Kochi at Thoppumpady
We invite you to be part of this mission. Donations to "Shilpa
Society" is exempted under 80 G of IT Act. We are also
registered under FCRA.
